1. Wasaga Beach

Yeah yeah yeah, you probably saw this one coming. But! It’s number one on our list for a reason! Located only 90 minutes from Toronto, Wasaga Beach is actually the longest freshwater beach in the world. Boasting tranquil and shallow waters, this spot is perfect for a laidback swim for small children or those who aren’t the best swimmers. There’s even a boardwalk on sections 1 through 3! 2. Awenda Provincial Park

You may not have heard of this one, but it’s actually just around the bend from Wasaga Beach! This park usually remains uncrowded, making it the perfect destination for those interested in a quiet retreat in nature. According to this article, “one of the main advantages for beachgoers heading to Awenda Provincial Park is the dog-friendly beach. In designated areas, your four-legged buddy can race around in the sand with the rest of the pack and splash about in the water.” Out of the entire park, the best beach is called Third Beach which is right on Methodist Point Bay. It’s protected from the elements which keeps the wind at bay and water warm.

3. Indian Head Cove and The Grotto, Bruce Peninsula National Park

This hidden gem is almost a straight shoot north from the GTA, and is without a doubt one of the most beautiful beaches around. Located near the town of Tobermory, Indian Head Cove is a rocky beach surrounded by cliffs and crystal clear waters. It’s extremely photogenic, and includes a special spot named The Grotto. This awesome spot is a super cool shore cave that looks like it’s straight out of Pirates of The Caribbean.
